On the evening of July 4th, 2025, the Zhejiang Provincial City Basketball League (referred to as "Zhejiang BA") launch ceremony was held at Hangzhou Basketball Park, signaling the start of the 2025 season. The event will run from July this year to February 2026, with teams from 11 prefecture-level cities and 90 counties (cities, districts) across the province presenting 400 exciting matches. The launch ceremony also announced the sole designated game ball for this "Zhejiang BA" - the "Miguel" basketball, manufactured by Sanmen Jianlong Sporting Goods Co., Ltd.

　　It is understood that "Zhejiang BA" is one of the highest-level amateur basketball events in the province. The competition is divided into two stages: the preliminary rounds and the city championship. The preliminary rounds will be completed in July 2025, with 90 county (city, district) representative teams from across the province competing to determine 11 champion teams. The champion teams will independently represent their prefecture-level cities in the competition. The city championship stage is scheduled to open on August 8th. Each prefecture-level city can enter one county (city, district) representative team that won the preliminary rounds and one city-level team, for a total of 22 teams competing for the championship.

　　"From the local preliminary rounds to the birth of the champion, the province will stage around 400 amateur basketball events, and various places will hold rich and colorful cultural and sports performances and cultural and tourism activities both inside and outside the stadium." Wang Zhigang, vice chairman and secretary-general of the Zhejiang Basketball Association, introduced that "Zhejiang BA" aims to become a local event, transforming the basketball league into a city-wide carnival and a national celebration.

　　At the launch ceremony, team representatives from the 11 prefecture-level cities across the province showcased their skills with the official game ball in a fun shooting demonstration.

　　Reporters learned that the Zhejiang Provincial City Basketball League (Taizhou Division Preliminary Rounds) and the 2025 Taizhou First City Basketball League will be held at the Linghu Gymnasium in Linhai from July 15th to 18th, 2025. Nine counties (cities, districts) and Taizhou Bay New Area will each send a representative team to compete for the qualification to represent Taizhou in the provincial city championship.
